Your information
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
KJV Scroll Bible is provided by Tim Jossund. This policy explains how information is handled by the iPhone app, this website, and support.
Your personal study stays on your device
The app stores notes, bookmarks, saved highlights, reading position, and reader preferences locally on your device. These records are not uploaded to Tim Jossund or RevenueCat by the app. There is no app login or cloud study-sync service.
A subscription lapse does not delete these records. Removing the app or clearing its data can lose them. Device backups, if enabled, are controlled by your operating system and backup provider; the app does not provide a backup or recovery service.
Subscriptions and access
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat helps verify purchases, restore access, and report subscription activity. This involves purchase and transaction records, product identifiers, subscription status and expiration, and a generated app user identifier shown in the app as your Support ID.
Subscription requests also include technical context such as app and SDK versions, platform, and store locale or currency. Like other internet services, providers receive network information when your device connects. We use subscription information to operate paid access, resolve support issues, and understand subscription activity.
The app does not ask for your name or email to create a subscription account. A Support ID is a pseudonymous identifier, not a guarantee of anonymity: if you email it to us, we can associate that identifier and its subscription records with your support message. We do not receive your full payment card details.
See Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's privacy policy for their data practices.
Online study requests
Some study tools connect directly to outside services when you use them:
- FreeDictionaryAPI.com receives the word requested for a modern English definition.
- AO Lab's Bible API receives the Bible book and chapter requested for OpenBible cross-references.
These providers also receive your IP address and normal request information. A lookup may reveal which word or passage you are studying. The requests do not include your notes, bookmarks, or Support ID. Opening an external source or license link takes you to that provider's website, where its own privacy practices apply.
Website and support
This website does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, contact forms, or cookies set by its page code. The hosting server may keep ordinary access and error logs, including IP addresses, requested pages, request times, and browser information, to operate and protect the site.
If you email hello@timjossund.me, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a Support ID or screenshot. Our email provider processes those messages. Please avoid sending passwords, payment card details, or private study notes unless necessary for your request.
Use, sharing, and retention
We use information to provide the app and website, verify subscription access, answer support requests, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. The app includes no advertising SDK. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising across other companies' apps and websites.
Information is shared with service providers as described above and when legally required. Providers may process information outside your country. Support, server, and subscription records are retained for as long as needed for these purposes, including applicable accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements. Local study records remain until removed from your device.
Your choices and requests
You can edit or delete individual notes and bookmarks in the app. To ask about access to, correction of, or deletion of information held by us or processed on our behalf, email hello@timjossund.me. Include your Support ID if the request concerns a subscription. We may need to verify the request and retain records required by law.
We cannot retrieve or delete study records that exist only on your device. Deleting app data or requesting deletion of subscription records does not cancel Apple billing; manage cancellation in your Apple subscriptions.
Children and policy updates
The app is intended for a general audience, not specifically for children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy will appear on this page with an updated date. For privacy questions, contact Tim Jossund at hello@timjossund.me.
